k,i know this has been gone over many times but i have never took the time to read it cuz i usually do self notchs and a couple coats of minwax poly and call it good.i am trying my hand at a nice finish for my trade bow.i have some black saman h20 based stain and some poly.i was thinking of using the natural white colour in contrast to the black by sticking masking strips down and staining over with the black.my question is if i stain the bow ,let it dry,remove the masking tape,then seal with the poly,will the poly make the stain run?any help will be great or if yall have a better approach i would like to hear it.th'xs .....bb!
