Can anyone tell me what kind of wood this is? If you know, can you tell me if it's any good for making a bow?

Well if not a bow, poplar makes good arrow shafts if you have the equipment to make those out of a thin log like that.

Regardless of the woos species, a piece of wood with that many knots will not make a reasonable bow. Be more critical with wood selection; knots are difficult to deal with, especially when you are a beginner and the knots are that big and plentiful.
