How I got my new lip piercing
« on: March 17, 2013, 02:52:12 am »
How in the heck is this bow related you may ask? Cause a bow done it to me, thats how. I was holding two billets together, punching the W splice together when the two pieces buckled upward, striking me in the mouth. Upper tooth went right through my lower lip. So, only question that remains is, what type of ring should I put in it? I was thinking something paleo, like a deer bone killed from the bow that did this to me...

ouch, that really must have hurt! how bad is it? will it heal up? if your really going to do a ring then use a bone from a deer you killed with that bow. Hope you recover well!

It sounds worse than it is... Already stopped bleeding. However, what is really making me upset is I just broke a bow I was working on... VERY annoying...

i know how that feels! ive broken 2 i was working on for trades, the worst part is either not knowing what you did wrong, or knowing you did something utterly stupid and could have done much better but just didn't because of ignorance or laziness.

When I was a kid I split my lip open on the door edge of a corn crib...Kinda cool scar.....You will have one too. Just tell your buddies some dude hit you and you cleaned his clock ;)
Bummer on the bow. At least it didn't knock any teeth out.

I saw a pic. like back in the late 80's of a guy that was retillering a old lemon wood bow. It broke a peice (sliver) split his upper lip went up a nose hole and came out the side. His was big enough for a deer bone. His lip looked like he'd been hit with a leg bone.  Ever since then I make sure I stay back well and pull with a long strap. You get a better site picture like that anyways.
Feel lucky could have been way worse.

dang, thats scary ...things happen fast don't they?
the only problem with lip piercing i see is the constant drooling down your shirt,   :P but hey you might get a new nickname out of it
when i'm working on things my ancestors worked, singing the songs my ancestors sang, dancing the same dances, speaking the same language, only then  I feel connected to the land, THIS land, where my ancestors walked for thousands of years...
