Hackberry Rambler - reworked
« on: March 13, 2013, 10:23:35 pm »
Heres a hackberry bow I made for myself a couple years ago. Somehow it ended up reversing tiller so I reworked it by belly scraping
back to what I hope is decent tiller. Let me know what you think of the tiller now, seems my tiller eye has been wonky lately.  :o
Also heated some reflex in that has held pretty well. Had to refinish her after all that and it took the dye job kinda weird but I like
the resulting camo like pattern it left. Was mid 50's prior to rework, now mid 40's draw at 25".  61.5" ntn
Thanks for looking
Greg

I like it and the tiller looks good to my eyes.

What kind of finish do you typically use?

I think the tiller looks nice. If the bow shoots good i wouldnt try to fiddle with it.

All your bows look so awesome. I really like the finish on this one!

Thats a great looking bow Greg. I really like the stain and designs that your bows always have. Looks huntworthy to me.

I could spot that as a Badly Bent bow from a mile off.  Nice work as always.

Thanks Dictionary, finish is combo of colors of leather dye with satin spar, 6 coats and paste wax.
Thanks Zion, appreciate the compliment.
Thanks Dave, have to say I've been liking the bows you've been making lately better than this one though.  :)
Thanks Jon, when I make you one it will have to be nicer than this one.
Thank you mwosborn.
Thanks hunterbob
Thanks Pappy, hope it holds the tiller this time. :o
Chris, untrained eye? I don't hardly think so ;D
Thanks Okie, I like the finishing part of bowmaking as much as the rest of it, gives me a chance at trying to be creative.
Thanks Slim, your eyesight must be better than mine.
Thanks smoke
Thanks johnfolchetti

Looks good from here.  Way to re-work it Greg.   8)
