Limb wood osage?
« on: March 07, 2013, 05:48:33 pm »
Does limb wood from an osage tree work as good for bow making as the bole? And what about other hard woods as well? I would think it would be harder to find a straight enough limb so is it worth it?

yes wood from any limb is just as good as the tree itself,,if it is good wood,,straightness is not your main concern when choosing bow wood,,quality wood is your first concern,,you can straighten any piece of wood

Are you making a 3 piece..?  If so Maple has been extensively used for takedowns.
