Osage Selfbow
« on: March 02, 2013, 04:22:40 pm »
I just finished this one up for the trade. I wanted to put it up for bom so I'm going to post it like this to. It's 62 in. Ntn and pulls 52@28. Tips are coco and antler. Finish is six coats of shellac. Handle is elk dyed black. The gold trim around the skins is sharpie marker, but don't tell anyone.  :o

Well, thanks for signing up for the bow trade so that I have a tiny chance of receiving that bow!

Wow.  I love your bows Dvs...especially this one.    Might have to borrow that sharpie trick for outlining skins. Looks sharp!

Very nice bow.  Are those black rat snake skins?  If so those are the nicest most vibrant skins I have seen.  Around here they are so dark there isn't much of a pattern.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

What's worse is that you keep being reminded of a gorgeous bow that you, in all probability, will never get to shoot.  That's why I keep deluding myself that I may be the recipient in this bow exchange.  For a while I can live with my castle in the air.  *sigh*  I think I am in love.

With the bow, you sick people!  The bow!

Ok- it is a red watersnake a kid from the neighborhood gave me. I cut it in four and flipped one half to mix the pattern.
