Well HELLLLLOOOOOOO fellas!
Hope all is well with everyone I stopped in to share a few pics of my latest project, I have two of these bows going and this one is finished. Its sheep horn with five layers of elk leg tendon sinew backing. The bow is 37 1/4" long and has a 20" draw length. I painted the sinew black and the tips a vermillion red...sure like the red and black combo.
the bow is very suprisingly fast and silent, little hand shock but does have some finger pinch.
I am taking it to a friends tomorrow to get a draw weight but am guessing 44-46 pounds. Im sure it will gain as the sinew continues to cure over the next few months, I was hoping for a 50 pounder! These bows are very time consuming and horns are hard to come by, I got lucky and got a few sets from a taxidermist. The arrows are dogwood with barrell hoop iron points, double grooved and sinew wrapped.
Take care and shoot em if ya got em.
