Hickory Take-Down
« on: February 20, 2013, 07:42:23 pm »
This is my first  take-down longbow attempt, and It didn't come out half bad. I fixed the cracking in the handle by filling in the sleeve gaps with fiberglass resin, now it draws without any cracking sounds.

66" tt

2" wide from the fades up until ten inches from tip than a taper to 3/4"

45# at 29" (A little bit lighter than I wanted, but OK for a first attempt and still heavy enough to hunt)

Heat treated, barely an inch of set, shoots good.

I thought that this bow turned out nicely for a first time attempt.

Nice to have a 2 piece bow. It looks great for your first time attempt. ;)   Do I see a prop twist on the upper limb.? ???

Good job on the fixer'er upper. The tiller looks nice.

It looks like your upper limb might be twisting when you draw
