Wo that is really cool!
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

That bow has personality! Nice job!!

I've got a crab apple I was planning on cutting.  Looks like I'll have more to do with the wood than just smoke some meat :)

Friggen sweet! Apple is great wood, huh? I love the brown color you get when ya just peel the bark off and then it dries. I love the design you used, AWESOME bow!!

Dang! That is pretty wood.  You made a fine bow out of it.  Seems that I remember cutting a crabapple down a few years ago and it being some of the hardest wood I ever put a chainsaw to.... or maybe my saw was just dull.  How was it to work?

Thank you all for your thoughts, but Johnny appleseed might have a bone to pick with me now if you all start using crabapple :) Many of the thorns popped out while making the bow so it has about 7 hole through it also. As far as hardness goes, I cut this tree with a hatchet, but it took to a draw knife, rasp and scraper with ease. I look forward to seeing some more crabapple bows, maybe someone with more tempering experience will give it a go.

That is a sweet looking bow.  Very nice work.  I am eyeing the 4 crabapples we have in the yard.  Wife says no!
Enjoy the hunt!  Mitch
