crab apple bow pictures

Here is my first attempt at crab apple, I just let the bumps and thorns dictate the shape. I started with 2" of reflex and ended up at 1.5" behind the handle. I love the way it shoots and will surely try again. 66" 50# at 28".

Smell that? Thats 2 stroke exhaust from my chainsaw! I m covered in crab apple. Great looking bow. Did you temper it?

I did not temper, but you bet I will for the next one. The development I live in is called crab apple hill, so I also have a good supply. The pictures do not show the character of this bow well at all, the back looks like a mountain range.

Save them to your "Pictures". Then right click and open with "Paint". Click on image resize/skew. Chose the size at 40 x 40 and click save. It will be nice to look at, but only 70-80 kb's.

I forgot to mention. That 40 x 40 size is good when saving originals that are 1-2 mb in size.

Awesome bob...I'm sure it looks better in person....I always like not tempering a wood not used much or at all the first time I try it just to see what it does on its own.....looks like a lil tempering wood work well next go around...but it looks like a forgiving shooter. I've been eyeing the crab apples here for a few years but never have cut one yet...they're pretty gnarly critters. Might have to cut the ones on my property now...lol. I remember you asking me about the one I had my Molly curve sitting in ;)
