I'm looking to get into traditional archery and am particularly interested in the English Longbow. I've seen a few different ones available and am looking in the $300-ish or less price range. I'd ideally like to get the bow sooner rather than later so I can get shooting once the weather warms in a few weeks. I've seen a mixture of bows, some hickory self-bows, some red oak backed with hickory, and some tri laminate with bamboo and hickory. I live in northern VA, so it's warm and pretty humid for good chunks of the year. I was thinking a bow drawing in the 40-45 lb range, which seems not anemic but still not too heavy. Any suggestions on a particular brand or construction of bow- self-bow, laminate, backed, etc?
Thanks
