Beautiful work LostArrow!  I really like your Nock design.  Did you happen to take any pix of how you carved that?

I'll post some more as things progress. Working on the handle wrap and strike plate as we speak.

Ok. so heres my progress on the bow. It has about 3.75 Inches of reflex and will be a molle. I nearly lost my left thumb when i was roughing it out yesterday.  :-[ It was a very stupid mistake i made, or rather i very unwise decision i chose. I was using my table saw to thin the limbs. I left my hand in the way and the saw overpowered my grip and sent the wood in the direction the saw was spinning. my thumb was in the way and although i don't have any major injury it was a scary experience. I think ill stick to my band-saw for awkward ways of removing wood. Heres the pics of its profile and such

Scary Indeed! Always listen to the little voice that says something bad is going to happen. Well, when you're using power tools anyway. Glad you escaped unscathed. Made a little progress on the lipstick.A little camouflage  so to speak!

Onebow, check out the post "pin nocks" .A few guys are talking about them right now.
Sa- A brush, ;)....................................and acrylic paints. Easiest to work with. You can even get a set at the dollar store now. A lot less expensive than my first set  :o

just acrylics OK, I  am pen and pencil person but i  need to start using a brush more.... really like the look of that with the stain in the background and the fine black outline in areas. you should do a whole back of a bow like that :)

alrighty heres a look at how far i am. Its currently at a no-slack string.(taught but not braced.) And its at 21 inches draw. The other pic is unbraced. it has retained about 2 inches of the reflex that i put into it and it started at 3.75" Im looking for tillering critiques and other advice as to what might need adjusting.

That's a real beauty foir sure Lostarrow. Nice artwork. Ionic what I see is a little stiff form the center out to the lever fades on both limbs.

ionicmuffin, you need to brace that bow and get off the long string.  If you are staying within you targeted draw weight and you have the tips moving 6 to 8 inche below the handle, it's ready to brace.
