Having Owens as my last name, and having been told it is Welsh in origin, I believe this is close enough in location within the Brittish Isles to be perfectly acceptable to your friend.  Actually, if he turns his nose up at it this Owens would be glad to accept it.
Very impressive artwork you've put into this bow.

Now that's a real fine piece of work! That red really pops!! 8)

adb - Thanks!  I really appreciate it!  I admire your bows quite a bit so it's nice to get your opinion.

Christophero - thanks! at first i was trying to find a coat of arms or something and I found a few but just wasn't sure which one to use.  I asked his wife about it and she told me his ancestors are from Scottland so I decided to go with the Scottish Lion.  Also it seems the colors good have just as well been green but I asked her about that too and she said he likes red.    She has no idea why I was asking her this stuff.  She must of thought I was a little weird!  Hahhaha!

lesken2011 - thanks!  I appreicate it.

Wow that thing is amazing, the art work is stunning.  The bow its self is a work of art but you took it over the top.

I would like to echo everyones elses compliments. The artwork is beautiful and looks painstakingly tedious. He better like it or he deserves a good thrashing. I see what you mean on the tiller. I thought I was the only one that had made a pyramid bow with an eliptical tiller, lol. I'm sure it'll serve him fine and at the very least it is an exquisite work of art that anyone would be proud to have in the arsenal.   Danny

Very nice bow and the art work is beautiful. Seeing as I from Scottish descent.

Hey Don!  We could be cousins!  My Viking ancestors left a trail of DNA thru Scotland!

Love the artwork on this bow and the tiller ain't near as bad as some of mine.  Love it.

I know that it has been repeated a lot, BUT THAT IS SOME OF THE MOST DETAILED ARTWORK I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. I have done some of the celtic knot art. It is time consuming.
Damn fine job!!!

Pleasure to look at.
Thanks for sharing, and giving me new ideas...if you don't mind >:D
