Sunday-go-to-meetin Black Bear quiver
« on: February 07, 2013, 10:05:38 am »
Here is the latest quiver. Black Bear (got in a trade with Gsulfidge) the decoration is all made from "pre-contact" type materials. The quiver and bandolier are hair on black bear, the "rosettes" are plaited buckskin that's been stretched into the shape of a half globe with white mink tail pendants. The pendant in the middle is another rosette with a bone hair-pipe, and the carving is a buffalo leg bone (trade from ThomasH). The stiffener is split ash and the skin side of the fur is painted red (powder+ egg-white&water) the last few pics are detail close-ups.
Hope that ya like and please feel free to comment or crtique.

The rossettes, tails and paint really set eveything off.

I'd wear that at my wedding.  Accessorized with a black tux (tails of course), white shirt and a plains style sinew backed shorty.  :)

Great job half eye!  I sure didnt envision that skin turning out to be an awesome quiver when I had it.  Excellent craftsmanship my friend.  Good trade, by the way.  And Zach says hello.  He is loving his molly.
