Just checkin in for the moment.  Got 3 staves in the works right now, haven't yet decided on which will be for trade, so just gonna continue on all three :)

Lotsa progress on all of the bows!  Great to check in everyday, well truth be told...just about every hour.  Got my crazy billets glued up this afternoon.  I'll have to call this one a Plan A.   :P  Cool if it survives; firewood if it doesn't.

Got a little time in on my trade bow. Tillered out to 18" (It looks like in the pic I am pulling it farther and needs more tillering to balance). 61" osage. 65lbs at 18". She needs to drop some weight.

well I am also finishing up some bows for gifts and my son decided to do a english war bow and quiver for his history project so I am a bit tired up on these things at the moment.

I have been on the look out for a 6 ft reticulating python with a nice tight pattern on it and guess what got caught in a fish net at our tilapia hatchery.  Had a fresh rat in his stomach too.  So I have that in the freezer waiting for a T/D osage set of billets that I have been wanting to do for about 2 years.  Other option is a black palm as backing with paduak belly that i glued up last year and haven't gotten to finishing yet.  That is also a sleeve take down.  So going to try that first and see how it comes out as it would be something "different" for my recipient.  Though a python skin on a T/D osage would also be "different" and cool.

That osage bow is looking good all around Paul. Real nice profile lines and I like the length and weight. Killer!

After breaking plan A, and coming in underweight on plan B, I've started plan C bow. Mulberry with one thin layer of sapwood left on the back and some pin knots and slight wiggles to navigate. Roughed out, shaped and now flexing just a few inches on floor tiller.
Almost ready for long string, still gonna be awhile to see what I get out of her. Glad to have lots of time left to try a get a decent
trade bow made. Call me Mr. slow-to-make-a-bow-guy. ;)

Lookin Good Paulsemp! Badley B that looks like a good candidate. Sorta looks like the first bow I made. And I love all the pics of your house I'm seeing in your posts. I'm also an "antique" house man myself. My house is a 1909 Craftsman bungalow.

My plan B is in the works. Currently shooting plan A that required a good bit of lateral limb movement for string tracking. It is very close to center shot and all the arrows I have are spined 50-60 or 45-50 with the bow being 55# at 28" and are smacking off the riser when shot...most of the time. If I raise the brace to 6 3/4 inches it is quiet as a mouse, but that seems a bit high (what do ya think?), so I ordered some 55-60 spine to see how they do. It shoots accurately and with little handshock, so I hope it just likes a stiffer arrow. 63" osage deflex reflex with an inch of set.
