Arrow shooting Position

I have built more kids bows than adult bows, and I felt terrible when I had to pick a piece of quill out of my little girl's hand. Since that first bow, I've put a little shelf on all kids bows. 

On my bows I kind of like to shoot off my hand, but I'm gonna try a shelf on my next bow.

Off the knuckle, so that when it turns to hamburger I am constantly reminded that my arrows aren't spined correctly

 I've never actually shot a bow with a cut in shelf, but I don't mind shooting off a floppy rest or a glued on piece of wood or cork.  Do whatever floats your boat!

I have come to like a tiny shelf for shorter bows. A "Keenan" style grip is perfect for this.
On ELB style bows it seems sacrilegious so just off the knuckle. I am a bad enough shot as it is due to not practising so a little shelf and a string nock just makes me hit target more often.
