What do you get when you cross a recurve, a yumi, and a cable backed bow?

This! This piece was the male piece of a stave blackhawk had and gave to me. After roughing it out at Marty's I had an epiphany as to how I would utilize the branch. I'll make it a string bridge! So even after a couple long days of bow making I worked on this thing all day Sunday and finally got it finished up... I think. Even after a bunch of pulls and shots, while taking the full draw pic the string bridge tip broke off on me! I immediately went and glued it back on, wrapped it tight and thick with B-50, and soaked it in super glue. Held for the second full draw pick and took a few more shots but we'll see how it holds up. I may also add another leather pad on the back of the limb where there's a lot of contact and maybe add a string bridge to the recurve. So anyways here's the stats. 51" ntn and 38#@24" but I short draw it out of fear. The bottom limb is about 16" to the branch and the top is about 28" from the tip to the arrow pass. The string bridge overlay is bone and there's a leather pad on the back of the upper limb to keep the string from sliding around. The handle is built up with foam sandal material. Both strings are B-50. I inlayed some brass bar into the knot just for looks as the long one does not go up into the overlay. Believe it or not the bow actually shoots pretty well. At the moment I've seen that it does well with the back string just barely taught before stringing. I'm sure I could tighten it up a bit by my worries are that the string bridge may fail again and adding more tension puts a lot more stress on the belly. This bow really made me think about cable backed bows as I imagine a well designed one could have greatly reduced mass. I have more thoughts on this bow and the designs but I better wrap up this long winded response. Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! This thing seems to shoot well enough that it'll be what I carry around at shoots and such (although I rarely do much shooting).
