First cane arrows

Just got done with my first ever arrows.  River cane with stripped turkey left wing feathers and glue on nocks and tips. Hopefully as I progress, I can move on in to knapper points and self nocks. The basic cresting should appeal to the Kentucky boys on here

I shot them yesterday. It was my first time shooting cane arrows. They are lighter than my wood arrows but shoot well and hit hard! It was the first time I had an arrow penetrate all the way through my target. I like em!

How much are they wieghing? I am going to do me some cane when I get to it and was wondering how the wieght compares to the popular I been using.

they look great i need to get straightening some bamboo shoots i have and make some myself. i have only ever used POC shafts so far.

Briarjumper12, I as of yet, do not have a scale to weigh arrows (grains). These are unspine tested and not weight matched. From just the feel of them in hand, I'd say they are lighter.  I did glue in bamboo dowels in each end for nock and point integrity and hand picked shafts of the same diameter. I'll be making more fore shore

Thanks guys, if I can get a bow to stay together a little longer, I might get to practice up and shoot the course at the Classic.  That is my goal.  briarjumper12, we need to get together and build me a bow!  I have the "want to" and wood.  You have the equipment and the know-how. should work out just right

Those are great, but I can't say much for the cresting, cardinal and white would have been a better choice in my opinion.
