Blackhawk, I remember they bow you are referring to and actually still have the broken pieces to it. It was an elm shortie, stiff handle, with a rawhide back. Yup, it was waaayyyy to overdrawn. Elm can take allot, but sometimes, its just too much. That bow was a mess.
I am going to be leaving the tips wide on this bow. Of course that will slow it down some, but I want this bow to be able to take all kinds of torture and abuse without concern of the tips breaking. And the tips are already working some at full draw, any more wood taken off will make them work even more. Not what I am after. I agree narrow tips do speed things up, but this bow shoots just fine as she is, with no hand shock.
Now I gadda get this thing in a shipping tube before I get to many people mad at me. Thanks again everybody for the comments, this bow was for whatever reason, whoopin my butt. So I have named it, The Whoopin Stick.
