Eastern woodlands flatbow w/pics
« on: January 17, 2013, 11:35:55 pm »
The paint is just barely dry on this one. I was looking through one of Jim Hamm's books and came across this Onandaga flatbow. I guess it caught my attention because unlike many of the native bows it has a slightly narrowed and deeper handle, and is widest about 8 inches from center on both limbs. Its proven to be accurate and smooth but has a little string follow.

Red elm, 55" ntn, #40 @ 24".

Thanks for looking, Eric

Cool little bow. I was just telling my buddy that I was itching to make a replica bow for the first time. You inspired me to get started.

Love it. Tiller looks perfect. The paint job is very nice.  ;D
