Paintbrush oak?

Not sure what subspecies of oak this is but I was cleaning up a stave to ship out and decided to try bending some. Turned out to be pretty tough stringy stuff. I think I'll refer to it as paintbrush oak

What was the MC?
Finally checked today and it's at 13%. Seems to be where all my wood is right now with this cool wet weather.

Would that affect how it broke?

After some searching I think I've settled on this being post oak. Hopefully I'll come across some more.

Post oak is in the white oak family and is tough stuff. Its probably the most common oak tree in Oklahoma. I cut a lot of it for firewood but ive never tried building a bow from it. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
