first bone nocks and field points.

my first tryat bone nocks and field points. these are just some cow bone i stole from my boxer. i have buffalo bone coming in the mail will do more out of those and some hunting points also. i can take your thoughts on them good or bad. i cut and straighten the cane too. hope i get better the more i make.

I was hoping to see pics of the working sequence between your 2nd and 3rd pics.  The outcome is impressive.  How do you do it?  Lathe?  Carve them by hand?  Do tell, please.

Done it on my belt sander. Forgot to take pics as I went along new at this stuff. Drilled small hole in knock then onto band saw to cut down to that hole. Glad you like it thanks for the component.

Go right on and use it. I have made hunting points out off it also. This bone was from petco I have some buffalo bone coming in the mail soon. Hope those turn out good.

YEA, very nice nocks!
been meaning to try this on some of my wildrose shafts ,since most are pith cored ...maybe those pictures are all i needed!
like how you drill first for that rounded concave, then saw to it.

nice even fletchings too do you burn them, or snip them?

Those look great.  Only one thing I would add to them.  I would wrap a little sinew around the bone nock, almost up to the string slot, just to reenforce it.  I have had a few blow out with me.  Mine may have been thinner, its hard to tell in the pic.
