Thanks Bub for answering all my ? weeks ago. You were correct in it doesn't take much Ipe, the ash back one in the first post was the best, she sure was fast and with only a thin ash backing, even had Mullet saying he had to start a Ipe bow he had been putting off.
I've already started another Ipe with a purpleheart power lam and boo backed, but hopefully it will be a heavy weight and fast. Any suggestions to this build would be appreciated. I have the boo & lam glued up an waiting for it to cure good before I decide on the design.

Yep, its 1.460 wide, .410 thick, 62" long, boo sanded to .210 thick, with about 13" purpleheart power lam, all glued up and cured hard with TB3., I cleaned the Ipe with denatured alcohol several times till the rags didn't pull any oil from wood and also cleaned the boo, glue up seems real strong. also glued in 2" reflex measured at the tips.
Thanks, Graylan

You did good there, Gramps. Fine looking bows.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Thanks Gar, Yea the kids all are happy. they get lots of store bought junk, so for several years, I've been making them stuff or picking up used camping and hunting gear.

Thanks Eddie for all your advise and help.
