I'm just letting my thoughts, I wander if hickory back and added to the osage belly with the ipe core would be the best option.  tiller the back and belly.  This bow will en up to be 120lbs. at 28".

Just be sure to let the stave dictate the design and not vice versa. What help do you need? Jawge

I love what you do by my guess only work with a true stave and follow the growth ring.  I am a carpenter by trade, and love to build bows and shoot arrows.  Once I've finished my quest in building through lamination a high strength ultamate shortbow, I will return to my roots and find a stave right from my own environment.  Then I will follow your advice, Jawg.
