Plains Quiver and Bowcase set - Coyote
« on: December 26, 2012, 09:00:39 pm »
I made this one out of two tanned coyote hides with the paws and claws attached to the strap ends and the ends of the bowcase.  The strap is backed with part of a red Hudson Bay trade blanket.

    Peatreg,
That is a beautiful quiver! Always wanted a quiver like that but I gotta get some hides and I can respect the amount of work you put into that...

Very nice craftsmanship.  Which method did you use to tan the skins?  I am planning on doing some hunting this year in the midwest and will harvest what I can.  Just need to figure out tanning and then making gut string.
Where there is a will, there is a way... and my way is a nice longbow drawing around 55#.
