VM character bow finished
« on: December 24, 2012, 02:07:32 am »
I posted this bow, in progress, in an earlier thread but didn't want to bog that thread down with even more pics so I started this one anew.  The elk antler tips are large plates because one tip had a split of sorts that scared me so I plated it.  Arrow rest and front accent thing is also antler.  The back is just green stain over brown stain and covered with tru oil.  Bow is about 62" and 45# @27.  Thanks for looking and any comments.

Steve, that is some really nice work...start to finish, you nailed it.  8) I love it.

Thats an AWESOME bow! The natural look of that piece of wood is just wicked. I like what you did with the handle too.

Do you think it's a durable shooter? or more of a wallhanger? either job im sure it would do great as  8)

Like Bryce said in his thread, most people make bows for shooting not wall hanging  ;) granted, if you think its going to blow, hang it up and dont touch it? either way.

Yeah, love it!
I just love the cuspy switchbacklook.
If Antoni Gaudi had made bows instead of weird funky buildings he'd have made 'em like that  ;D
