My latest bow for your viewing pleasure is a 62 inch rawhide backed black locust recurve. She is 42# at 28 inches , her handle is wrapped in jute and the bow overall finished with too many coats of tru oil to count. A little wax over all that. The tips are dyed black with some leather dye. The most striking aspect of this bow is the faux giraffe skin which covers the rawhide backing. The idea for this came from a bow posted by Pat B a few years back. (benefits of the archives) Although I loved the idea, I had some misgivings about shamelessly copying his work. After working up the courage to ask him if he would mind . . . well you get the idea, and anyone who hangs around this site knows that Pat B is one hella of nice guy. Thanks Pat for being so generous with your ideas and I hope you take the copying for what it is - a compliment. Anyway, the giraffe skin is actually tissue paper that is set in TBIII and it just covers the hide backing. I love the way it looks and hope you guys like it too. I wish a Happy Merry to you all. Russ.
