Hickory splinter fixed (FD pics posted)

I have a hickory bow that i was working on over at Bryce's place. We turned it out in basically 6 hrs from stave to almost full draw. During tillering i had heard a sickening tick, later when i got back and pulled it to full draw i heard it again... When i inspected the limbs i found a splinter lifting on the back of the bow and continues over to the side of the bow. The splinter is only about 1.5 inches as far as i can see. My question is, can i fix this by filling the crack with superglue and then using sinew to wrap it up tight?
If i do this would i just wet the sinew and wrap? or would there be some kind of glue needed? I know this bad boy is a shooter for sure, just need to avoid breaking it. It will be about 45 lbs when done with sanding and the like.

i would superglue the crack then sinew soaked in knox gelatin mixed with warm water.good luck brother.

sounds like a plan, ill do that tomorrow and hopefully i can still keep it! any idea as to the length of time it needs to dry?

it should dry over night.the sinew won't be too thick.mix your knox with warm not boiling water.i try to mix it a little on the thick side.a little thinner than syrup.

i have faith in you.you will do fine.use thin super glue so in gets down in there.use the thin runny stuff,not that thick gel.you want it to flow down in the crack.

alright, just superglued it, now time to let it dry, then sand the edges nice and round(they are sharp) Then apply the sinew!

get rid of all sharp corners.they are how you get splinters.

yeah. might have figured as much. Either way it looks sturdy even though it has a splinter.

The stave had some waving grain with some run offs. Good strong wood though.

alright, here is the repair i did, the crack was barely visible before i put the sinew on.
