Yew sapwood on oak boardstave
« on: October 21, 2007, 03:42:30 am »
Im thinking about putting some yew sapwood on a oak boardstave.  Does anyone have any thoughts on if this is a good idea or not before I start. It will be my first backed bow.

Thanks Joel

I've never done a bow backed with wood either. Interesting combo. Is the board stave you've chosen not suitable for selfbow?

The oak might hold up but I dont want to risk it. I didnt pay enough attention to the grain before I bought it. Plus I have a lot of Yew to use up some with bad heart wood.
