bolts

Looking for some ideas about X bow bolts. Length, fletching, shallow notch or flat at the rear other practical and/or historical comments. I have recently made my first X bow and am in the process of making bolts for it. Did the point usually extend past the front of the tiller? How about any thoughts on FOC and heavy points.
