Hay all, wondering what is your favorite bow design 4 both target and hunting application's!3 in a tea cup @ 30 yards.right now my favorite is a pyramid 2 -3/8. @ fades by 62 ttt bendy handle@ 55# @ 28. I'm talking about consitant groups . Regards bobbyjoe!thk's

Depends on the species. Yew I go 1 1/4"- 1 1/2" wide taper the last 12" to 1-2" tips.
Osage 1 1/2 wide. Taper last 12" to 3/8 tips

Lol!  When I get to that kinda accuracy I'll let ya know.  My favorite bow so far however after finishing bow #5 is an ELB tillered flat bow around 50# 68" ttt, around 2" wide at the fades, parallel to mid limb, and the tapering to 3/8" nicks.  Either that or a maple molle 1 1/2 wide by 64" long that draws 35# @ 28"

Yea, kinda depends on the wood species. I have a sweet little osage bow that I can shoot at a target all afternoon, but for hunting I've been using a 64" hickory pyramid bow from a stave. Reliably deadly at 25 yards--providing I can hit the teacup ;)

meare heath with a weighted handle. i have several bows i did this way, especially lighter woods. i drill a half dozen holes into the static riser and insert brass pins and glue them in. puts more mass in the handle, so it gets rid of hand shock without slowing cast. that teacup is mine now :)

If I could shoot teacups at 30 yards I wouldn't care if the bow was pink and had ribbons on it. :o

My Osage bows I make 1 1/4 at flares, taper to 1/2 at tips. My yew bow I made 1 5/8th at handle, tapered to 1/2 at tips. Make my bows with equal length limbs. I guess I shoot ok:)

You cannot discuss design without discussing wood.  They are too much dependant on each other.

I like a bow with no built up handle or anything but that bends throughout its length and is around the length of the shooter or maybe a bit shorter.

66 or 67 inches from a white wood and about 1 3/8 at the handle pulling about 45 pounds is nice for me.
