could really use a few prayers right now

well its not just for me, its my entire engineering class that could sue those prayers, the reason is for our final for ou wengineering class we literally have  make something to allow us to walk on water for the entire length of my schools pool, the competition is Saturday and so far no one has come even relativly close to crossing it, and if we don't cross it we automatically fail it and it is worth 20% of our grade,at this point it is going to take nothing short of a miracle for anyone let alone the whole class to pass, this is also on top of other finals approaching, test, regular homework and so on

Great big styrofoam shoes Noel.  Dont forget to lash them together so your legs dont float too far apart. Make them about 24" long so you can get a stride going as well.

Get a couple thousands ponds of corn starch and dump it in the pool. The pool will turn into a goop you can walk across. Look up myth busters walking on water.

If you had a blade on the bottom of the floats could you not use the same sheer forces as in ice skating to propel you forward?!? Like a paddle in the water?!?

i was thinking to build a trough 3' deep and 3' wide, save on the corn starch and the cleanup

Get a small plastic swimming pool, put it on a raft and walk round and round in the pool while you pole your way from one end of the pool to the other

Really prayers for a contest! I wish you luck, and if you done your homework you should do fine.....but do you really think prayers are appropriate??? Think you should save them for something more life shattering!

Could you make a floating bridge out of 1/4" luan and 4'x8' sheets of styrofoam insulation?  Some I-bolts and rope to hold them all in line.  Pick your skinniest classmate, have him back up and run really fast across it.

Two 4' x 1' x 1' Styrofoam pontoons lashed at the end of three parallel, evenly-spaced 1" x 5" x 6' strips of exterior grade plywood. Sit across all three, and don't stand on any one. Add your own paddle.

Of course, I'm not sure I'd call that walking.

How about a clear plexiglass T-bar just under the surface. You would not have to be free span, you could have verical supports when needed.
