That's a beautiful wood combination.  I got to draw this bow a few times, and it's nice and smooth.  Your buddy is going to love it.

The color contrast in the wood is beautiful,bet its a nice shootin bow as well.

Looks great! Where did you find maple with straight enough grain for the back? Quarter sawn, or flat?

The limbs are 0.7" thick, pretty much their entire length, as would be normal for a pyramid bow.
