simple/knoty osage

Finely some of my character osage  has come to season. This one is 56 ntn and 58lbs at 26".  Paper thin rings and knots that run front to back I had to put it down a few times while tillering it. Teak oil finish and a simple jute with superglue handle. This was going to be part of my Christmas exchange but I do not trust it and have others in the works. Thanks for looking.

Yeah, those knots look awesome.  Makes great looking bow.  It looks like the upper tip is flipped more than the bottom.  Did the bottom pull-out or was it never induced as much? Just curious. I have a short osage bow with recurved tips getting ready for the tillering rack.

The bottom limb has a knot right where flip should be. I flip the top first (dumb move) and as I was doing the bottom I felt like the knot was about to pop, so I stopped. Instead of going back to the top and taking some flip out I said o-well and left it. I never went back to correct cause I guess I'm lazy and did not have to much hope it would be a shooter. It ended up shooting VERY well and tiller looks ok. With staves like this I need to force myself to stop, otherwise I would mess with it until it's firewood!

from last year, tapping maple. One of the guys on here showed off his syrup and I had to do it myself

I don't think you should leave taps in the trees. I always wanted the tree to heal up when the sap season was over.  I miss making syrup since moving to Texas.
