I thought I was skunked this season, after huntin' hard since late september.I thought I had a good one pinned down, with a still active, and very hot scrape. With less than an hour of light left on closing day,I did'nt get the one I was after, but was blessed with a shot at a small buck at 14 yards.I was huntin' with my old "miracle" bow,a 60# @ 28" boisd'arc flatbow I built about 8 years ago.My arrow was a privet shoot, tipped with a head I cut from an old saw blade, fletched with turkey feathers. The point and nock secured with deer leg sinew, from a bow killed deer. The arrow hit halfway up the nearside lung, severed the aorta, then exited low from the far side lung.He made it 60 yards before piling up. The blood trail could not have been any better. God Bless Pete C
