Can I show off a friend's leather work?
« on: November 20, 2012, 11:24:00 pm »
It's always nice to know a professional when at times you can't do things for yourself. Believe me when I say I've tried and leatherwork is not my forte. My buddy Luke finished these two up for me this week. Makes me proud, I wore them all day long just to see how well they fit and showed them off to everyone I ran into. I like a good sheath almost as much as I do a good knife. I framed them for the picture in some of the sinew I just finished just to say I had a part in this.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

If we can't help each other what is the point of being here?

He really did a good job on those!!
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Luke does excellent work. He owns a saddle and tac shop in a real small town here in Nebraska and dedicates wintertime solely to indoor projects. He's also quite an accomplished carpenter.
One of his specialties is tearing down old barns and salvaging some of the finest distressed lumber you could imagine.
I'll be seeing him in a couple days and pass on all of your nice comments.
