First hunt since the Heartattack
« on: November 16, 2012, 02:14:53 pm »
The Dr. does not want me working real hard.
I cant rake leaves or suck them up with the bagger on our push mower.
Was told that I had no buisiness trying to get a deer out of the woods by myself.

I can walk all I want to.

So, I took the 22 and busted some squirrell heads this morning. ;D
Let me see if I can post a pix to prove it.

Every time i shoot at a bunny i recall the wise words of Elmer Fudd "I've got you now you waskally wabbit!"

I'm glad you're getting back into the woods.  That's some of the best medicine right there.

Thanks for the good thoughts guys.
It did feel REAL GOOD to be in the woods.
I am quite tired this eavining, despite the fact that I took a three hour nap after lunch.

Half Eye:
It may be the first of the year before the Dr. will let me go back to work......  Got mixed feeling about that.
But, I think have finely got it throught my head...  and I plan to make the most of this time off.
It is just hard to change your mind-set when you have been employed full time since you were 18.  I am 47 now.

Huntertrapper:
Hay man, Long time no see....  How are you doing these days.
Love them Henry 22's myself.  Wish I had a 22 that would shoot shorts.  Them Long Rifles have a good report.

Depending on how I feel...  I may go after somemore tomorrow morning.

Dang, David, didn't know about the heart attack. I hope you are doing better, you're too young. Pop those tree rats and be carefull, buddy.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Eddie"
Yeah it got me the 30th of Oct.
The best conclusion is that I am just "one of those people" that is genetically programed for this.
Funny thing is I don't fit into any of the normal risk categories.

Don't Drink, Don't Smoke, Not over weight, Don't have High Blood Pressure, My cholesterol has never checked high, no family history AND I eat right and  exercise......

I feel REAL GOOD but my stamina is not there yet.  Will take a while, 4 to 6 more weeks, for my heart to heal.

The nurses at cardeo rehab work me quite hard.  Monday, Wendesday and Thursday for two hours each day.

Not going after any tree rats this morning...  My legs are sore and we have a shin-dig at my Grandmother's house at 12 noon.

Lovely collection of "limb bacon".  I deeply regret not having much for squirrel populations up here.  All we have are the tiny pine squirrels with no meat on 'em.  Those are some lovely fat and sassy squirkles.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.
