It was a cold and foggy morning. When 25 yds. away I saw a doe coming my way. She got to 18 yds. broadside and I shot, it was just low under her chest. About 15 minutes later, I saw this buck coming from the same direction that the doe had come. He got to the spot where I missed the doe. He turned slightly to smell the arrow I shot at the doe. I drew and aimed a little higher than before. The arrow hit him mid body in the short ribs and came out mid body behind the shoulder. The arrow completely passed through him. I am hunting with a 38 lb. iron wood bow, with cedar arrows and razor sharp (cut the hair off your arm) 160 gr. ace broadhead. The arrow and head is around 510 to 520 grs. He walked off slowly into the fog. I thought I heard him go down but was not sure. Waited around 2 1/2 hours to track. BigA and I found him 100 yds down the hill. His rack is all scratches up and broke where he had been fighting. I would like to see the one that kicked his tail. Great morning hunthing.
