Most extreme bend in ash I have accomplished (Gunsmoke edition!)

Here is a 45@28 66ntn bow of ash I made and it is the first time I have made a bow of ash this length, bend so far of this weight, and survive. I had a bad problem tillering this bow because of the large knot that was on the belly out of the lower fade. It cause allot of deflex that made it difficult to get an even strain on each limb. I had to do it by measuring the deflex in the limb and making sure that at brace the lower limb had and equal distance bend as the upper limb, plus the amount of deflex. Anyways, heres the pics... How do yall think I did?

That kink on the lower limb caused an early high string angle that caused the upper limb to come around faster than the lower. I am not sure how this affects the performance. I think it does cause the lower limbs outer tip to stress more than the upper, so the lower limb is a bit thicker.

A gun leaning against the wall behind an archer drawing a bow that might break seems like a bad idea. I'm sure it's not loaded though....

Thanks for the compliments guys, I was actually unsure of the tiller but reckon its ok. Buck Taylor from Gunsmoke agreed. I met him today at the gunshow and he fancied it enough to draw it a few times then autograph it.

Sharpened, I love my pellet guns. I have a subsonic one for birds inside city limits ( they are illegal to shoot in the city and its quiet ) and I have a super sonic one for squirrels when I'm out hunting. Ammo is cheap and effective.

His form aint to bad is it? Thing is, before he drew it back, he admitted to not being an archer at all. Bet he would be a good one if he gave it a try...
