wednesday nite bowmaking
« on: November 08, 2012, 11:24:01 am »
just thought id toss a few recent pix of some bows folks are working on

dale brought in an entire trees worth of nice snakey staves.
i helped him get em split and he gifted a quarter to wayne, one to steve and one to me!
generous fella-thanks dale!
we successfully got his quarter halved and he is gonna have two fine snakey bows one day soon.

jenna is working on her second bow and should be shooting it next week.
unfortunately her first bow failed but this one is gonna be a keeper, pretty sure

aaron took on the challenge of chasing a ring on on a stave from a 15 yr old walnut log he had.
better him than me, not sure these old eyes could discern those rings even in the sunlight

hopefully i will remember to bring the camera when these three bows are up n shooting
peace

What fun, scraping wood with like minded homo sapiens.  If ever I get down that way, it will be on a Wednesday if I have any say in the matter.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Looks like a lot of fun.
I like the faces on the horses, they all look so sad though.
You'd think they'd smile more, with all of that bowmakin' goin' on.
