A Pleasant Surprise
« on: November 06, 2012, 04:18:48 pm »
I got home from work the other day and there was a PVC tube laying across my chair. I thought is was way too early for the 2012 Christmas Exchange but what the....! When I opened the tube I found this beautiful osage selfbow from PaulSemp. She's 56 3/4"t/t with a slightly radiused belly,
1 3/8" outside the handle(handle narrows to 1 1/4") tapering to about 3/8" tips with tip overlays. She pulls 54#@26", bends through the handle and is fast, whisper quiet and very sweet shooting with absolutely no hand shock.
ps. I didn't recieve a bow in last years bow trade so Paul took it upon himself to build this beauty and send it too me.  Thanks again, Paul.  8)

Another fine specimen to add to your collection there Pat.  I have got to try and make me a bendy handle bow one of these day.  Congrats on the bow, and to the gentleman for making it for you.

Congratulations, Pat. I didn't know you didn't get yours in the trade. Sorry to hear that. After all the work you did for us, that was mighty nice of Paul to send you one. I guess the old saying good things come to those who wait is true.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

a great looking bow and a example of what a fine group of people there are here on PA, a few bad apples won't spoil this group, Bub

Very cool. That is the kind of thing that sets this group apart.  Nicely done Paul.

Your welcome. I did not think that the guy who orchestrated the whole thing should get screwed like that. I am for sure NOT the best bowyer on here and know others could of done better but figured I could offer you some of my time.
