Stoned my 1st turkey
« on: October 29, 2012, 09:51:04 pm »
Been struggling this year and last trying to make it happen. Although, I had deer on my brain when I left the house, these birds quickly changed my mind. Watched em come in from about 150yds and I was trying to keep my head down while they walked into range.

Once I could see they were at about 15yrds, I came to full draw and then straightened up (while on my knees.) I've been practicing that shot a lot in the off season and MAN did it pay off!

George's trade bow and stone points on cane arrows. A deadly combination!!

Thanks for looking!
Scott

Looks like that ol' blue-head is done scratching corn for the season.  Nice way to collect fletching for the next set.  Enjoy the eats!

Nice bird!!  That is really an accomplishment to shoot a turkey from a natural ground blind.  Congrats! :)

Thanks guys! That certainly helps to alleviate some of the pressure I've been feeling lately. It's just good to go out and get it done. Now if I can have some success with the deer herd I will feel whole again.

I asked Iowabow if this counts in our little competition, and he said "it has to be a deer." Sooo, still got some work to do.    ;)

That is a beautiful picture with your turkey and your bow against the leaves.  Fall is a beautiful time of year.  That's a scene right out of history, something most of our ancestors did at one time or another.
