Glued on Siyahs question...
« on: October 19, 2012, 02:49:52 am »
I getting ready to try a glued on Siyah bow.  Never done such, but this diagram below is the idea I came up with for doing this.  Does it look practical?  Have any of you done this and did you use a method like this or something else?  I'm planning to use TB2 to glue this up and then wrap the joints with either glue saturated silk thread or B-50.

A four inch long v-splice is all thats needed. No wrapping. Also rotate your syhia's 90 degs or you will have a funny looking bow.... ;)

Lol mikes right. If you do it like that I'm pretty sure your core will split lol. Turn that thing 90. And you'll be just fine ;)

Nope, that's going to try to lever it apart.
The V should be as viewed from the back or belly not the side.
Just like a handle splice.

Here's another visual. The only difference being that the backing overlays the splice.  Not really necessary.

At first, I would keep the siyahs rather short, say 4 to 6 inches excluding the splice, but quite thick, say about 3/4 inch.

Yup, Georgie.  He has my number.  Right down to the four digit extra tacked onto my zip code.
