Arrows...
« on: October 18, 2012, 12:11:28 pm »

Biggest set of arrows I ever made for someone: these are war (bobtail taper), regular, distance (two different barrel taper) and flight (breasted taper) arrows for an At-the-Marks shoot upcoming weekend.

Wow! What did you make those out of, and is there a build-along?

SWEEEETTT !!! It would be cool to see flight distance differences between the heavy war arrows and the lightest flight arrows when shot from the same bow. Great work.

That's more than a hundred yards from a 55# ELB.

war arrows are 7/8" - 5/16" Northern Pine
standard 5/16" - 11/32" - 1/4" Hemlock
distance 9/32" - 11/32" - 1/4" Fir
flight 9/32" - 5/16" - 1/4" Northern Pine

No secrets in makin them: shafts were orderd tapered, stay is waterdye, I use a Jo-Jan multifletch to fletch them.

Thanks all for the nice replies!

If those are shoot arrows thats alot of work. Also if they are you did a fine job straighting and sanding.

For some reason I have not understood, yet, the flight arrows didn't fly as far as the distance arrows. In fact they didn't come out straight from the bow.
