Pigstikr -- simple elm bow
« on: October 15, 2012, 01:16:29 am »
Posted this one recently for advice, finally got'r finished up!  Enjoy ;D

Cedar elm, light walnut stain, osage tip overlays with stringing grooves (my new fave).  Some poly n wax to finish her off.
53#@28", tillered to 29" for safety.  Holds dead even after shooting, tips return to about 1/2-3/4" reflex after rest.  The recipient plans to use her to shoot hogs on his family property, hence the name ;)

Noticed after the fact that my camera had autofocused on the grass in the background >:(

AND the money shot :)

Thanks for lookin, and for all those who helped me get her here

Nice work Kevin!!  At first I thought there was a sinew back on that, but it's just the canbium isn't it?  Wow, that's a beaut.  I can't fathom that won't live up to its name.

Killer bow Kevin. Did you temper it?

Lovely work with a hard-working, good-looking tiller.  Kudos on switching to stringing nocks.  I put them on all my bows.  It saves the bow, the bowyer, and the archer from a lot of stress :)
