I've recently started learning how to knapp but I've been limited to practicing on the bottoms of glass bottles. I have no idea where to get usable flint or obsidian  so any help would be appreciated. :D

Where are you located? This site is full of knappers from all corners of the U.S. All willing to share their knowledge of knapping & general material location.

Welcome.  People who knapp bottle bottoms successfully impress me.  I've tried several times and have broken every one of them.  Good luck in your quest for rock.

I live in western Ohio and I have only met with maybe two people he had flint (of poor quality) and one gut with a good size piece of obsidian but other than that I've had no luck finding any material other than beer bottles. I've had good luck with bottle bottoms and I've made probably around ten to twelve points but they just don'e have the WOW factor as does a flint or obsidian. I wish I could figure out how to post pics so I can show my work.
