My latest.-Pics.
« on: October 07, 2012, 02:12:30 am »
This spent a month on display at the local library.  I dare say I'm getting kinda good at these.  My nicest shooter yet.  I've made adjustment to my form.  Raised the tips in relation to the riser area, and changed the distribution of the curves.

Bamboo backed bamboo and Ipe.  Riser is Maple, Pear and Walnut.  Tips are Purpleheart.  60# @28.  68" of fast arrow slinging luv.

Better shots, including a full draw and a video will be coming.

I think there's a weird perspective in the pics, I've noticed it when I take pics of a my bows  standing upright.
I think because the camera is held at eye level you get a foreshortenning which makes the upper limb look longer than it really is.
If I scale off the pic (just using my fingers) it shows the length from arrow rest to top tip as longer than arrow rest to bottom tip... That's gotta be a camera effect????
Anyone else noticed this?... it drives me nuts when I take pics and I end up squatting on floor or crawling about.
Just measured it on the screen from the last upright pic...
Shelf to top tip 8.7mm shelf to lower tip 7.4mm  :o
That must be way out from reality, I'd be interested to know those real dimensions so I can help rid the world of this plague of photographic missrepresentation.

Know exactly what you mean. I have a shot that I will dig out later that makes pretty standard bow I made look like a yumi!
Stunning profile on that bow prairie.

Nice job, Scott! 8)

Good looking work! Looks like it'll launch an arrow with authority.

Cheers, that's what I figured.
I think the answer must be to kneel down when taking that sort of shot... or turn the bow up the other way ;)

Very nice, PB. Is it a trilam and if so, what is the core?

Del,
Probably kneel.  I can gently spin it and just keep shooting.  Then use photoshop to crop out the junk like laundry basket and such.

The core is bamboo, "carbonized", back is Moso Bamboo rind and belly is Ipe.
