Thanks Hammertime!  It shoots pretty smooth and has a very smooth draw.  Seems to stay the same weight from about 15" to 28".  ;)

Thanks Ken.  Don't sell yourself short on your own work brother, you make great bows and I could learn a thing or two from you as well.   :)

I realize this is an OLD post, but I have to ask, ...with all the furvor over the upcoming Red Oak board bow trade, I'm posessed of a few questions:

 - First, I'm wondering if this bow still survives? 
 - Have you any update on it's performance? 
 - Have you hunted with it? 
 - Any changes you'd make in how you built it if you were doing it again? 
 - Care to share any special tips and tricks for working with Red Oak?

still shoots exactly like it did when I made it.  :)  Still one of my favorite bows to target shoot with.  I have shot a few 3D courses with it last summer and it still shoots great.  I do all my hunting with a osage bow I backed with copperheads a few years ago but I would definitely hunt with this one if it were a darker color.  I made this one strictly as a target bow but I don't doubt it could take game if I wanted it to.

it is an excellent bow! i really do think its a great example of what red oak is capable of. i plan on trying to replicate it, maybe ill get it right, maybe i wont, ill keep trying till i do.

This bow is really inspiring me as a model for the Red Oak Board Bow Trade. I'm thinking of boiling instead of steaming. Any advantage to steam over boiling?
