European Buckthorn Flatbow

I traded with Cody(misslemaster) for this stave back on memorial day at Marshall. I ended up making a standard american flatbow out of it. Its 66.5"ntn,1 1/2" wide at the fades till midlimb,then tapers to 7/16" tips with ipe overlays,target mass was 20oz,actuall mass weight is 20oz  8),its low 50's@28". For a regular ole flatbow it really makes an arra thump a target pretty hard. I cant wait to get my hands on another piece of this stuff. It was a really good piece of wood and i was very happy with my end results. And thats saying something coming from an admittted osage snob.  >:D    anyways...ill quit boring you n get to the goods  ;)

Beautiful bow BH. I havent seen many with the sap wood left on . Looks great. If i"m seeing it correctly

Thats a slick bow Chris, love the look of that sapwood back. Doesn't look like it was a easy stave to work but you did a great job with it
Still have some splits of this at my shop and considering the praise that you and Cody give this wood I'll have to tear into it, maybe after
hunting season.

I got get my hands on some of that.
I *think* I discovered some brichleaf buckthorn down the tracks from my home... Doesnt look nearly as sweet as that wood.

"Surrender the booty" huh.
I'd say mission accomplished.
