native South American Ipe WARBOW!!

Parnell the nocks are made of hemp cordage just tied around. the decoration are colorful feathers from pheasants, i got em from some wings i have. It wouldve been nice to get some colorful imitation parrot feathers or something like that, it wouldve made the bow stand out more.

real nice bow man, but i don't think the draw length in south america is anywhere close to 32", from what i've seen the have a fairlly short draw, Bub

I was thinking the same thing so I did a search and found this,  this is a tirbe still living the primitive way.  Probably the last in the world who knows they were discovered not to long ago and there are videos on you tube of them.  Looks like there bows from this pick are very long, very strong with long draws.  Very intersting tribe worth watching the videos if you get a chance.

thanks for the thumbs up guys. Yea I did watch some videos, i saw they were pulling those bows back a great deal, im sure over 28 inches, if not more. I do however doubt they were 100lbs, maybe 80-90 max. Ive also seen pictures of natives who looked awfully strong.

That is a sweet bow right there.  It is nice to see some unbacked ipe.  I was wanting to get my hands on ipe at some point, but didn't know where to get a board straight enough to go unbacked.  Would love to find a stave of that sa primo bow wood.
